The Spouse visa, also known as a Married Partner Visa, is a leave to remain in the UK under the settlement route for Foreign nationals who are married to a British National or someone who is settled in the United Kingdom.

What is an Unmarried Partner Visa?

If you and your British/Settled partner have been cohabitating for a consecutive duration of 2 years and you can provide proof from 6 different sources, you will be eligible to apply for an Unmarried Partner visa which will lead to settlement in the UK within 5 years.

Evidence of suitable accommodation that will not lead to overcrowding

Financial Requirement

You must prove that the sponsor is earning a minimum of £18,600 per annum or £22,400 (with 1 dependent) or 24,800 (with 2 dependents)

Relationship

You are in a genuine relationship and wish to settle in the UK with your partner

Fees

The government fees for the visa from outside the UK is £1,538 and in country fee will be £1,033. You are also required to pay an immigration health surcharge of £624 per year.

English language

You must successfully pass a valid English language test at each stage of your visa

Dependents

You are allowed to apply for any number of dependents provided you meet the financial requirement of the Home Office
