What is a Spouse Visa?

The Spouse Visa, also known as a Married Partner Visa, is a leave to remain in the UK under the settlement route for Foreign nationals who are married to a British National or someone who is settled in the United Kingdom.

You must meet the financial criteria, the language criteria, accommodation criteria and Genuine relationship test to qualify for a Spouse Visa in the UK.

If your visa is granted, you have the right to work in the United Kingdom without any restrictions. However, during that period you cannot claim benefits but a Spouse visa will lead to permanent settlement in the next 5 years.
